About Wise Monkey Financial Coaching

Our mission: To demystify the world of finance, relieve you of stress relating to your financial worries, and help you use your resources effectively so that you can get more out of life.

Simonne Gnessen set up Wise Monkey Financial Coaching in March 2002, after working as a qualified independent financial adviser for ten years.

She developed the idea of offering financial coaching to use her skills and experience to benefit anyone who needs help with money matters, but who doesn't necessarily need traditional financial advice.

She's since acquired new skills and qualifications and attended an extensive range of seminars and courses to help her best support anyone to make the changes they desire and remove any emotional blocks they have with money. This means that she can integrate the technical and practical aspects of money management and financial planning with the emotional relationship we each have with money.

Simonne is in the process of co-writing a book called "Sheconomics" with psychologist, Professor Karen Pine. It acknowledges the emotions that women attach to money and helps women unravel the mysteries of the money world and their own psychological approach to it.

The Wise Monkey service has been designed to offer value, regardless of your level of income, and which isn't based on selling financial products. She provides guidance and support on any money issue; her approach is intuitive and non-judgmental and her coaching methods are based firmly on practical guidance and support.

With her unique blend of financial knowledge, coaching and teaching skills and practical experience, Simonne has developed useful and proven strategies to help you handle your finances and learn about money.

Simonne holds the following qualifications:

Simonne has been featured in many newspapers and magazines, including: The Financial Mail On Sunday, Psychologies Magazine, She, Zest, Glamour, Woman’s Own, The Scotsman, and Brighton Insight. She has also been interviewed on BBC News 24's weekly personal finance slot 'It's Your Money' and BBC radio.
